Member of the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. I help people solve problems. I view them as puzzle pieces.

Why this work

Growing up, I went through a lot — as a child, as an adolescent, and into young adulthood. Through most of it, I didn’t have the support or guidance I needed. I was navigating some really hard things largely on my own.

When I discovered psychology, something shifted. For the first time, I began to understand myself — why I felt the way I felt, why I responded to the world the way I did. Psychology didn’t just help me make sense of my past. It helped me heal from it.

That’s what led me here. But it’s more than history. I genuinely love this work. I love sitting with people, getting to know them, and walking alongside them as they work toward things they never thought were possible.

I know that might sound like the kind of thing every counsellor says. Maybe it is. For me it isn’t a tagline. Watching someone work through a problem they were convinced they couldn’t solve never gets old.

The way I think

Simpler. More direct. Things click.

“You said things other counsellors never said to me.”

I take that as a compliment.

Clients often tell me the way I work feels different. Simpler, somehow. More direct. Like things click into place faster than they expected. That’s intentional.

I’m a naturally analytical person. I connect dots. I look for patterns. I draw on neuropsychology, brain function, and childhood development to understand not just what someone is going through, but why. Why these symptoms. Why now. Why this pattern keeps showing up.

I believe in Occam’s razor — the simplest explanation is usually the right one. Then I share it in a way that makes sense. That moment — “I never thought of it that way. But that explains everything.” — is the one I live for.

If I’m not the right fit

There isn’t a type of person I won’t work with. The right therapeutic fit still matters — a lot. During the consultation we’ll both get a sense of whether working together feels right.

If it turns out I’m not the right person — style, needs, or just the chemistry — I will tell you. And I won’t leave you without a next step. My commitment is to your progress. Not keeping a full schedule.
